![]() “For the most part people really liked them,” Gallerani says. The team also wanted to gauge the fanbase’s reaction to some of the small quality of life changes that had been implemented, such as automatic gold pick-up. How Diablo 2 Is Changing on Its Path to Resurrection… While Staying True to Its Roots - IGN It appears additional changes likely are on the horizon. In early May, Rob Gallerani, the lead D2R designer, who also was the one who spoke on the deep dive gave an update on changes. ![]() His is why in the D2R deep dive the developers themselves said they were “very hesitant to even add autogold”, the D2R developers ALSO said this game WAS in fact made for the diehard fans and they hope new people also enjoy it. I think that d2:R done well, is what blizzard needed to do to get the fans to trust them enough to consider buying d4. i think d2:R has every opportunity to outpace d3… dont i think it will because d4 is also releasing. ![]() Will it outpace d3? thats a harder question, blizzard has really been trying to milk d3 for all its worth. Will it sell better than the orginal d2? no… ofc not thats been out for 20 years… i myself own over 6 copies of d2 and its expansion… d2:R will never outpace the orginal Personally i think d2:R is going to be a bigger success than d4.īlizzard has a long way to go to earn the trust back of fans, and d2:R is a huge step in doing that, if not the biggest one they can take. because frankly i don’t trust blizzard, after diablo immortal i don’t think a lot of us d2 fans do. i don’t expect d4 to even hold my interest. I think d4 will be more a successor to d3 than anything else. Not to mention i MOST of the hype fans have for diablo games came from D2, not d1 or d3.
